Sean Astin, King Bacchus XXXVII

Sean Astin will lead the 38-float Bacchus procession on Feb. 6, Superbowl Sunday, as part of the celebration of Mardi Gras in New Orleans. In a new Bacchus feature, last year's king, Elijah Wood will ride in a Returning Kings Float.

In a nod to the day, Bacchus will feature a float honoring each NFL franchise, said Captain Owen "Pip" Brennan. Fittingly, Astin won fame in the 1993 football movie, "Rudy," about a gutsy walk-on at Notre Dame University.
