I was then whisked into a room to do an interview with US Weekly writer Thelma Adams. I definitely felt like a Sundance insider because there I was being received as a filmmaker, being asked to do an interview with a national publication and with me was another world-class actor/performer, Illeana Douglas (Ghost World), who was at the festival with her own short film.

I then bopped over and did another interview with this nice young gentleman, Andy Jones of E! Entertainment, whom I would meet again later -- Click on the photo to see the poster of Elijah Wood and Liv Tyler "lording" over us as we did our interview.  We enjoyed our chat.
So basically while I was in the middle of this interview, these people walked by and offered these incredible glow-in-the-dark pens. So I took a couple, and then they had a whole box!  I was sorta drunk with glee from having been given a digital camera and doing this project of being photographed for this scrapbook and I was invoking everyone to become a part of "Team Astin." So I was given all these pens and I started handing them out to everyone from the doorman in the hotel to people on the street -- anyone who was nice and helpful, I would give them a pen.  So that was pretty fun! I still have lots of pens to give out to future members of "Team Astin."

That's Andrew Rogers far right in the photo, and Jennifer Candy in lower left. Andrew was the media relations volunteer for the festival, and we also formed a fast and, I think, lasting friendship -- he also volunteered to work on my short film in Los Angeles.

These are the gals who proffered the box of pens and donated them to “Team Astin.”
